How long has it been since her giggle was the most melodious music in my heart?

After the couple is no where to be seen, Clavier breaks the ice.

“Is she..?”

“Yes, she is,” I confirm her identity.

“Is he..?” Clavier asks.

Judging by the law books next to him, he most certainly is.

The rest look cluelessly at me.

“Who’re they?” Brenda asks with concern.

Clavier looks at Brenda and then at me. I nod my head once.

“That’s the guy who brought a whole lot of misery upon Zachary,” Clavier clarifies.

I could not have phrased it better myself.

“Brings back memories, eh? Fancy seeing her here.” Clavier comments.

I glimpse at him.

What a small world. Today is full of fateful encounters.

I make a conscious effort not to comment.

For the remainder of our lunch, Clavier is as quiet as me. I can only guess that he is reminiscing the past. To be more precise, my past…
