Waiting for you

- 9 -

Waiting for you
Is like waiting
Patiently in a queue
That would never shorten,
Never lengthen, never end,
Forever stagnant.

In the queue
I don’t know when’s my turn,
I’m rooted aimlessly as people
Come and sweep pass me
Like cars that race pass,
Leaving only a speck of dust.

You leave me waiting,
Praying,
For you to answer your phone
As I silently sob alone.

Waiting for you
Is like anticipating a shooting star
On a canvas of black
Hung up high in the sky.
They do rocket down
And cause an impact,
Once in a blue moon.
But I’ll never be so lucky
To see them.
They dissolve so hastily,
I’m never going to get
The chance to catch them.

You rush too fast,
I miss the chance.
Sometimes, waiting for you
Means I have to forsake lunch.

Waiting for you
But you don’t appear,
My heart is like a yellow lemon
Squeezed tight.
Blood spurts out
As hot bubbling acid,
Sizzling and burning
At the back of my throat.

Waiting for you
Is like reading a fantasy.
You’re never going
To know the ending,
Until the end of the tale.

For me, it’s 3 years later…
