Losing you

- 13 -

I’ve wrote countless poems about you
But never one on losing you.
I’d thought the day I pen a poem
On losing you would never happen.
I guess I was wrong…

Losing you
Was the moment
You told me,
“I just like you as a friend”.
It was that instant
You asked me
‘Just to treat you as a friend’.
And it was that junction
I knew the road had come to an end…

More tormenting than
Letting the memories of you fade.
More torturous than
Seeing the misty moon wade.
Losing you
Is draining my soul;
Abandoning me out cold,
Leaving me meaningless
When I flood out poems
And the pieces played on my piano darken.

Only now did I realize
I am
Losing you to the blackhole of time
Knowing that you’d never again be mine…
